| What is Business after Business? |
|
Would your business benefit from a little additional exposure? Are you continuously looking for opportunities to get your business name “out there”? Do you support local shopping and hope that other consumers in Mission would also keep their consumer dollars local? If you answered ‘yes’ to any or all of the above questions, the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce may have an answer for you. Business After Business events are free, networking, promotional events that highlight and promote your business to your business neighbours and local consumers. Business After Business events will introduce you to new clients and business people while allowing you the opportunity to showcase your place of business as well as your products or services. Business After Business events are structured in an open house format allowing people to come and go within a two hour time frame on their way home from work. The attendees are looking for a chance to mingle and meet other businesspeople, clients, and make possible business connections. The responsibilities of the host are a short and simple list. The host business would be responsible for providing the accessible location, refreshments, they should also have staff on hand to answer questions and perhaps lead tours if that would be appropriate. The host business could also invite their own contacts, client base and colleagues as well as posting a flyer in their business for two weeks prior to the event for additional promotion. The host business would also be responsible for providing one door prize. The Chamber of Commerce would design a flyer for promotion, ensure distribution of the flyer, arrange for any advertising, take registrations, provide name tags, provide staff as greeters at the door and supply entry forms for prize draws. There are a few tips that you could take into consideration that may make your event that much more successful. Consider partnering with a Chamber of Commerce member restaurant to provide the refreshments, you could also consider creating a display of your products or services that people can view at their leisure, have staff prepared to mingle with guests and help create a relaxed and social atmosphere. You should also ensure that any partnering businesses are provided the opportunity to display banners or promotional material. Above all, use your imagination and have fun with it! There is no simpler, cheaper method of promoting your business to your own local community. What is holding you back?
