Fraser River Heritage Park is located at one of the most breathtakingly beautiful locations overlooking the Fraser River. The former site of St. Mary's Mission. The Mission,in which Mission is named was founded by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1861. The school buildings and the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes were demolished in 1965 and the Grotto was reconstructed to its original specifications in 1996. The park is the site of many community activities, including weekly Wednesday and Friday evening concerts during the summer months. Some of the major events that happen during the year are: The Mission Folk Music Festival in July, Old Car Sunday on Father's Day which attracts hundreds of antique cars and thousands of visitors. Easter Sunday an easter egg hunt for the little ones, and the Our Lady of Lourds Pilgrimage held in August. Along with the Celebration of Communities in September.
