On the north bank of the Fraser River, located just East of Mission, a large village was inhabited by the ancestors of today's Sto:lo people. Xa:ytem offers a unique opportunity to learn about Sto:lo spirituality, archaeology and history. You will have the opportunity to experience Salish weaving, cedar bark processing, and discover the many uses of plant materials. Examine prehistoric tools, try your hand at traditional woodworking with an adze, and learn about the many artifacts discovered at the site.
